Get Found Online

Salons, car washes, caterers, mechanics, tutors and plumbers near you lose customers every day because nobody can find them online. Learn to fix that with free tools, and charge a fair price for doing it.

Inside the course

The 9 lessons

1. How customers find local businesses now

"Near me" searches on Google Maps, WhatsApp and Facebook. Which kinds of businesses need this most, and how to tell in two minutes if a business already has it.

2. Google Business Profile, step by step (free lesson)

Create and verify a profile for free. Always use the owner's own Google account so the business stays theirs. The verification options (phone, text, email, video or postcard) and why a postcard can take weeks.

3. Photos, details and honest reviews

Which photos bring calls, writing the business description with AI, and getting the first 10 reviews from real customers. Never fake reviews: it's against Google's rules and can get a profile removed.

4. WhatsApp Business for a small business

The free WhatsApp Business app: profile, catalog, greeting and away messages, quick replies, labels and a click-to-chat link (wa.me) to share everywhere.

5. A simple one-page website

Build one for free with Google Sites, or on the business's own .co.za name. A .co.za usually costs between about R70 and R320 a year, depending on the registrar. What to put on the page and what to leave off.

6. Facebook and Instagram, the basics

Set up a business page and make a four-week post plan with AI and Canva. Keep it simple enough that the owner can carry on without you.

7. Finding clients the right way

Walk in, show a before-and-after on your phone, and leave a card. Use referrals from happy clients. Why bulk WhatsApp messages to strangers can break POPIA's direct-marketing rules, and how to ask permission first.

8. Quotes, agreements and getting paid

A one-page quote and agreement template, taking a deposit (never more than half up front), invoicing, and what to do when someone doesn't pay.

9. Keep clients and grow

Use the free insights in Google Business Profile to show the owner how many people called or asked for directions, then offer monthly care.

The honest part

The skill is the easy bit. Finding clients is the hard bit. Plan for a lot of "no, thanks" before your first "yes". That's normal, and lesson 7 helps you get through it.

Some businesses don't need what you're selling: a shop that's busy with walk-in customers may not care about Google. We teach you to recommend only what helps the business. That's how you get referrals.
